Metalworking involves the production of metal workpieces of all kinds. These can be manufactured with a wide range of geometries and usually have to meet certain tolerances and achieve defined surface properties. The properties of these workpieces, such as strength and hardness, vary depending on the type of metal used.
Dust and particulate matter emissions typically occur during the transport of metal ore over long distance belt conveyors and in the subsequent Eirich-mixer pelletising process. Dürr LTB has supplied a number of extremely robust integrated Ecopure® FGA or Ecopure® PAS scrubber system solutions for this application, often running without the need for additional water.
Elsewhere, the production and processing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals - including the roasting and sintering of metal (and sulphide) ores, the production of pig iron or steel processing generates pollutant emissions which have to be controlled before entry to the stack.
