Particulate matter, dust & aerosol

The treatment of dust-laden off-gas was the original task of exhaust air technology in the 1950s and still is a challenging task. LTB has been involved in this process from its very beginning. Part of LTB’s delivery programme are dry and wet dust separators such as cyclones, venturi scrubbers, centrifugal scrubbers, rotation scrubbers, dynamic scrubbers and aerosol filters with speciaised equipment for special applications. For example, venturi scrubbers and cyclones can be individually designed and built for high temperatures of up to 1000 °C or abrasive media in our own workshop.

SO3 Results from thermal processes along with sulphur dioxide (SO2). Being present as very fine particles (aerosol), SO3 cannot be removed easily. It forms a readily visible blue haze at the chimney

P2O5 Results from the burning of phosphorus-containing materials and is present as very fine particles that form an easily visible blue haze at the chimney.

Hot gas dust removal At temperatures above 250°C, dust can be removed from gases only by means of special equipment.
